Smart City Observatory Workshop

The availability of infrastructure and services is a key element for the well-being of people and the development of territories: roads, public transport, water and energy networks directly influence the quality of life and support socio-economic activities. At the same time, access to essential services such as education, health and social opportunities, represent crucial conditions for the inclusion and cohesion of communities. However, access to these resources is not always equal. In many cities and regions, social groups such as women, the elderly, people with disabilities, young people or residents of peripheral areas face physical, economic or social barriers that limit their use and benefits. Furthermore, climate change and increasing urbanization pose new challenges, making it urgent to rethink current models.

The workshop aims to promote discussions to reflect on how to make infrastructure more inclusive, safe and sustainable. The aim is to identify regulatory, financial and operational solutions capable of reducing inequalities in access to urban services and infrastructure, promoting equitable accessibility for all citizens and contributing to the construction of more inclusive, resilient and fair cities.
