An ecological history of Europe is an academic workshop that examines Europe’s past through the lens of environmental change and human–nature interactions. The workshop explores how ecosystems, climate, land use, and resource exploitation have shaped European societies over long time periods. Topics include agriculture and forests, urbanization, energy use, biodiversity loss, and environmental governance from antiquity to the present.
