Gianmarco Ottaviano

Gianmarco Ottaviano is Professor of Economics and Achille and Giulia Boroli Chair in European Studies at the Department of Economics of Bocconi University, where he is co-Director of the Research Unit on Globalization and Industry Dynamics of BAFFI, fellow of GREEN and IGIER, and sits in the Steering Committee of BLEST. He is also affiliated with CEP, CEPR and CREAM in London, IfW in Kiel, and GEP in Nottingham. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain). During his career he has been Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna and at LSE. He is the co-author of many works in international trade, urban economics and economic geography. His publications focus on the competitiveness of firms in the global economy as well as the economic effects of immigration and offshoring on employment and wages.
