Baia Curioni Stefano

I earned my Degree in Economics (DES) from Università Bocconi in 1980. In 1985 I obtained a Doctorat de troisième cycle at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences sociales in Paris. Since 2000 I have been Associate Professor at the Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management.
I am responsible for the Arts and Heritage Major in the Ms ACME of the Graduate School of Università Bocconi and of the Arts and Culture courses at the CLEACC Undergraduate programme at Bocconi. I have been a visiting professor at the Phd School of IMT Lucca - Heritage management and development.
I have been Director of the Fondazione Palazzo Te (Mantova) since 2016 and I am a board member of Italia Rugby Federation, Fondazione Piccolo Teatro (MIlano) and Fondazione Antonio Ratti (Como).

I am Associate Professor of commercial law at Bocconi University since 2012. I was Assistant professor in Commercial Law from 2005 to 2012. I hold a Law Degree from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano and a Master for Business Lawyers from Bocconi University. I earned a PhD in Competition law from Università degli Studi di Perugia.

Medieval and Byzantine art, with particular focus on issues of artistic interaction across the Mediterranean.
I am Assistant Professor in the History of Art at Bocconi, and Research Fellow of the British School at Rome.
I hold a degree in cultural management from Bocconi, and an MA and PhD from The Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
Prior to joining the faculty at Bocconi, I held the positions of Research Fellow at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz – Max-Planck-Institut; Lecturer in the History of Byzantine Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art; and Assistant Director at The British School at Rome.
My scholarship has received recognition from a number of institutions, including, most recently: Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection (2016); The Leibniz WissenschaftsCampus, Mainz/Frankfurt (2019); the KHI - Florenz (2020-21); the Institut national d’histoire de l’art (INHA), Paris (2021).
My current work focuses on the following areas:
- The nexus between arts and politics in the medieval Mediterranean, with specific focus on artistic interactions, political conflict, and public memory. My current monograph project explores these issues through the interpretative lens of crisis, and in relation to the visual arts of Venice in the fourteenth century.
- Conceptualizations and artistic applications of light and transparency, with a particular focus on the use and meaning of rock crystal in the religious and secular cultures of medieval Europe.
- Medieval materiality, with emphasis on the theoretical and social constructions of value in the arts of the medieval and Byzantine Mediterranean.
EQUI PIERAZZINI MARTA

Feminist cultural organising and role of gender and feminist issues in the cultural and creative sectors. Practice theories in management and organisation studies. Contemporary art market and system. Culture-led processes of social transformation and territorial development.
I received my Phd in Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage at the IMT School for Advanced Studies, Lucca (Italy), with a dissertation on feminist cultural organising with a focus on the history, legacy and practices of Italian feminism. I have been Visiting Researcher at the Gothenburg Research Institute at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. I graduated in Economics and Management in Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment at Bocconi University.
I teach Arts Management and Markets and Cultural Mediation courses within the Management in Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment Master of Science program here in Bocconi University. I also teach Economia e Mercato dell’Arte course in the Master of Science in Visual Cultures of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milano.
