The meeting is part of the series of seminars / webinars 'Public Contracts Workshop Academy' organized by the Observatory on Public Procurement and Sustainability - GREEN Research Centre, Bocconi University

The decarbonization process to achieve carbon neutrality as soon as possible is now a priority at a global, European and Italian level and requires the commitment of both institutional actors, at different levels, and companies and other stakeholders.
The meeting inaugurates the new two-year period of activity of the Green Economy Observatory and intends to deepen the contribution and role of companies in achieving a carbon neutral world.

Most of the work of public administrators will deal with the rollout of the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). For this reason it is essential to modify the context in which they operate by allowing more discretion and giving more trust to public administrations after decades of suspicion. The workshop will present the results of the survey conducted by the GEO Observatory in collaboration with ANCE Lombardia and ANCE Milano, Lodi, Monza and Brianza on different approaches to the circular economy in the construction sector in Lombardy.

The seminar/webinar is organized by the Observatory on Public Procurement and Sustainability.

Nature can help to provide concrete solutions to reduce vulnerability and generate value exploiting the properties of ecosystems and the services they provide. During the workshop, the book "Nature Based Solutions for More Sustainable Cities ”- edited by Edoardo Croci and Benedetta Lucchitta and published by Emerald publisher - will be presented. It highlights the benefits generated by nature-based solutions (NBS) in cities by providing a holistic framework that considers design and planning, socio-economic evaluation and the financial dimension. The authors of the book will take part in the discussion.

The aim of this meeting is to stimulate the debate on the concept of resilience in a perspective that is not only abstract, but also operational, in order to guide the evolution of the city in the light of the current pandemic crisis.
